Inventing Options

There are Universities in Steel Canyon, Founders Falls, and Talos Island, all of which have work tables. There is also an invention work table in the base, when you enter the base, and turn to the left, it is in the first room, in front of a large wall safe that can also store your personal invention salvage.

Inventing in General
Inventions are created by combining Salvage, Influence/Infamy and a Recipe at a Worktable.

There are currently four types of Inventions:

• Invention Made Costumes
• Enhancements
• Invention Temporary Powers
• Components are a special case, converting stacks of identical Invention Salvage in to components for base construction and Empowerment Station buffs. This conversion is always available at any Invention Worktable, and doesn't require a Recipe.

Specific Inventions

Enhancements
Main article: Invention Origin Enhancements

The core of the Invention System is the creation of Invention Origin Enhancements.

Costume Pieces
Main article: Invention Made Costumes

A number of animated costume pieces can be created with the system, including various kinds of wings and special boots.


Temporary Powers
Main article: Invention Temporary Powers

There are a small number of temporary powers craft able with the inventions system.


Inspirations
There are currently no Inspirations that can be crafted.

Base Items
Main article: Crafted Base Items

Certain base items can be crafted in a Supergroup workshop. They require components which are crafted from base salvage, but not separate recipe items or Inf.

Additionally, Invention salvage can be converted into base components at an Invention Worktable.

So you want to be an inventor huh?

Well first things first, when you reach Security Level 10, you can run the Invention Tutorial in the Steel Canyon, University.
Although, we suggest you wait until level 12 to run it, so you can get a level 15 enhancement, where if you run it at 10 you'll get a level 10!
AND you get a free badge!!!


If you don't want to run the tutorial, or it didnt make 100% sense to you, or you just like reading my writing, well then read on!

Well, before we can invent something, we have to have the recipe, you can check what recipes you have by clicking on the Recipe text above your power trays it will open a window like this

it will list all of your recipes, in different categories depending on what type they are the one i have selected here, is a Run speed enhancement, so its under Run, costume pieces, and Invention Origin Enhancements (IOs) are under the Invention header

Well, in the above image, we see the Name of the enhancement, the level, how much Influence it will cost to craft it, and any Salvage it will take to craft it, it also shows how much of a certain type you have, and how much you need.

Now, head to Wentworths if you're not already there, and click on "Wentworth Employee"

This will bring up this interface, here, you can bid on, and sell your recipes, salvage, enhancements, and inspirations, just drag an item to a slot at the bottom of the window, put in an asking price, and hit "Post". But we are here to buy some salvage for our Invention, this recipe needs a Nevermelting Ice, and some Silver, now there are a few different "Silvers" available so make sure to get the one you need! you enter your bid into the interface where it says "Enter Bid" then click "Make Offer" if your bid won, you will get a "Bought" Text over the item in the lower tray, now you can click on Get Item, to place this in your inventory.


Once you have all of the salvage for your Invention, you can head to the nearest University, which in Steel, is very close to Wentworths, OR you can goto the base and use the Invention Table there

Once you have clicked on which ever Invention Table you're going to use, find your invention in the interface, you can click the "Hide" text at the bottom right of the window, and hide anything that you don't have all the Components for, or any recipes you don't already own. Now click on your Recipe, and if everything is right, you will be able to click on Create Now, and you will get:

if you created an enhancement, the message will change depending on what you made.

if you made a Costume Piece, like wings, then you can now goto the Tailor in Steel, Independence Port, or Founders Falls (at a low level i recommend you stay in Steel) and you can now place the Invented costume piece!
